The AlpTek 5500 is the new updated version of the previous model ALP 5. Until the introduction of the new AlpTek 6500, the 5500 model was the highest stand available from Mobil Tech with a maximum height of 18 feet, which is usually more than adequate to handle most applications. The older version ALP 5 has been used and enjoyed by countless lighting, audio and video companies, as well as churches, hotels and banquet rooms across the US for many years. The new model, AlpTek 5500, offers even more standard features than before, making it one of the best valued stands available.

The new Triple Security KBS Key Brake System is standard on the AlpTek 5500 and 6500 stands giving you added safety and peace-of-mind against any potential failures. The KBS System is a method of stand security whereby a safety catch locks into a rail on each mast with every turn of the winch handle. To lower the stand, you just release the safety catch to allow for a smooth lowering process. Additionally, there is a secondary locking knob to prevent any movement or rotation.

With 8 standard casters, you can move the stand with ease across the floor vertically, horizontally, or up a truck ramp for mobile production companies. With 4 independent adjustable leg braces, the stand can be utilized in rough terrain or tight areas where limited space can be problematic and still give you the stability and safety you expect. With labor costs at a premium, the AlpTek 5500 is easily a one person set-up or tear down. Its low-loading height makes it easy to install any adaptors, trussing or lights. The AlpTek 5500 and 6500 stands come standard with a spirit level for fine leveling.

All Mobil Tech stands and accessories come with a one year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. They are manufactured to the toughest German TUV standards and every stand has been tested and certified by qualified engineers. Engineering documentation is available on all Mobil Tech products.

The following accessories can be used with the AlpTek 5500 stand. The heavy duty AlpTek 5500 and 6500 models have a 50 mm shaft on the top while the StandTek 3000, SpTek 4000 and AlpTek 45 stands have a 35 mm shaft. The accessories - with a 35 mm shaft receiver - will fit on the AlpTek 5500 and 6500, but you will have to use a RALP5 adaptor that converts the 50 mm shaft to a 35 mm shaft.

• TALP 5: Adjustable Truss Adaptor with 50 mm shaft. Adjusts from 10" to 20".
• TBar 3: 5' TBar with a 2" Pipe for Lights. This has a 35 mm shaft and must be used with a RALP5 adaptor.
• RALP5 Adaptor: Used for converting a 50 mm shaft to 35 mm.
• Hook Clamp 50P: This clamp is used to connect lights to a truss or TBar 3 and fits up to a 2" pipe.
